The key to stopping plastics pollution is to target the primary source; that of uncollected waste. Therefore, without implementing waste collection services for recycling, or at least collection for controlled disposal the tap on plastics pollution cannot be turned off
Welcome to Nawiri Greener

Youth-led. Community-rooted. Environmentally bold.Nawiri Greener is a grassroots environmental initiative founded by a final-year Social Communication student passionate about reshaping how informal settlements engage with sustainability. We believe that climate action should start with real stories, local voices, and simple, community-led solutions. From the narrow paths of under-resourced neighborhoods to the screens of national climate forums, we are bringing attention to the urgent need for greener living — starting where it’s needed most. Our work combines media, education, and community action to spark change. Through powerful documentaries, environmental audio series, clean-up campaigns, and visual storytelling, we amplify voices often ignored in climate conversations.
What Makes Us Different?
Real Voices – We create audio and visual content directly from communities, not boardrooms. Community-first – We work within informal settlements, walking alongside the people most affected by environmental neglect.Youth-Driven Media – Our videos and stories come from young people passionate about change, not just reports and statistics. Small Actions, Big Impact – From waste education to local cleanups, we focus on simple, scalable actions.
